4 stars felt like i was reading this for forever, but still, i freaking love it。 World building and plot are still topnotch, but i think the heart and soul of this series are the characters, especially my two river babies。 At this point I will just die for them。 I have a bit of an issue with the pacing and the end so not a 5 stars, still great tho。 Can’t wait for the next book and the live series!!!

Still loving this series。 Can’t wait to see it come to live on the prime video series。 It’s just so good。 And while in many ways reminiscent of LOTR, it’s also much more epic in many ways。 One thing to note: I’m giving a pass because of how long ago these were written, but the body comments were a bit distracting。 Idk if they were as bad in the first two, but I was so tired of hearing about the plump characters or how you a character showed his mirth with his wobbly chins。 Like we get it。 People Still loving this series。 Can’t wait to see it come to live on the prime video series。 It’s just so good。 And while in many ways reminiscent of LOTR, it’s also much more epic in many ways。 One thing to note: I’m giving a pass because of how long ago these were written, but the body comments were a bit distracting。 Idk if they were as bad in the first two, but I was so tired of hearing about the plump characters or how you a character showed his mirth with his wobbly chins。 Like we get it。 People reside in larger bodies。 Move on and stop commenting about it。 🤦‍♀️ 。。。more

If your answer was “the same thing that happened in the last two books” then *DING DING DING* you are CORRECT!There’s no way I can give my honest opinion in this book without diving into heavy spoilers。 Thus, here is your big fat spoiler warning ⚠️Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne:Honestly, this plot seemed to drag for me。 I thought the idea that the Amyrlin would send two novices and an Accepted to hunt down the Black Ajah。 Especially when they had just gotten into huge trouble by leaving the Tower unannounced。 Regardless of the probability of that happening, their journey to Tear was quite long。 I didn’t necessarily like the power struggle between the Two Rivers girls。 I thought Elayne was just… present。 In the end, they made it to Tear and then promptly got captured and sat in a cell until Mat rescued them。 It just felt kind of irrelevant to the overall story。 That being said, I really did like Nynaeve’s development。 She became a much stronger character and I think her ability to channel will continue getting better and better。 Mat (and Thom):This was my favorite plot out of the three main storylines。 I thought Mat’s journey was really interesting, especially because throughout the first two books, you don’t get anything from his viewpoint。 His discovery of his “luck” was really fun。 I enjoy seeing a character succeed over and over and over。 I know there will be ramifications later in the series, but it was nice to see everything go right for a while。 His journey to Camelyn and then to Tear didn’t feel overly complicated or dragged out。 I also enjoyed seeing him run into Thom again and work with him to find the three girls。 Perrin, Lan, Moiraine, and Loial:I really enjoy reading about Perrin and Loial。 (Loial is 100% my favorite, big ol, huggable Ogier)。 Perrin’s powers are really interesting。 I loved seeing his relationship with Hopper continue。 Their journey to find Rand was fine。 Not overly exciting, but enough happened。 The one thing that drove me crazy was the Zarine/Faile storyline。 The readers knew from the first line that Perrin was going to fall in love with her。 He kept saying “I don’t like her I don’t like her I don’t like her” and then at the end it just seemed super out of character for him to do a full 180。 “My falcon 😘😘😘😘😘”All in all, I really liked it。 There were definite flaws。 I would rank this as my least favorite out of the first three, but it was still great。 Overall:Good story, good character building (especially for Mat and Nynaeve) but too much time on the boats and the ending was a little too repetitive for me。 。。。more

My favorite of the series so far, Mat got some awesome character development -- I quite like him。 The girls were great as usual。 Rand is slowly losing the plot。

Substantially better than the two previous books narrative-wise。 Enjoyed spending more time with characters other than Rand, but the issues with the characterisation of female characters seem to be becoming even more pronounced, to the point that they've progressed to be thoroughly uncomfortable and made me decide to leave the WoT series here。 It's not for me。 Substantially better than the two previous books narrative-wise。 Enjoyed spending more time with characters other than Rand, but the issues with the characterisation of female characters seem to be becoming even more pronounced, to the point that they've progressed to be thoroughly uncomfortable and made me decide to leave the WoT series here。 It's not for me。 。。。more

I finally finished this book and damn it was good! But not as good as the second book。 I like Great Hunt better i think because this one focus more on character depth and magic system which tend to make the book more slow pace, not unlike the book 2 that has some mystery vibe and more actions。 Now Im a bit intrigue of whats gonna happen to some of my favorite characters。

I like this one a lot, because this is when the characters start expanding, and is he how big this world is, not just from one person's point of view。 Previous books had a couple of chapters, from other people's perspective。 But this is when the pattern is established, that you'll be learning everything about everyone, from not only their own perspective, but from everyone else's。 I like this one a lot, because this is when the characters start expanding, and is he how big this world is, not just from one person's point of view。 Previous books had a couple of chapters, from other people's perspective。 But this is when the pattern is established, that you'll be learning everything about everyone, from not only their own perspective, but from everyone else's。 。。。more

I'm having a wonderful time in this world! LOVE Egwene and Loial the most。The formula of splitting up, each on a quest, and then coming back together, is repeated from the first two books but I'm not even mad about it because it's so fun!VERY intrigued about certain elements of the magic and getting some hunches。。。 I can't wait to see where the rest of the series goes! Would have enjoyed this book more if I weren’t in a huge reading slump。 But I liked that this book focused on other characters especially Mat。

Quick review (11/15/21)4。5 stars rounded up to 5。It was pretty good。

Really enjoyed getting more of different characters POVs (especially Mat’s) and the dream scenes were all pretty cool but I feel like this is the third book with the exact same ending… still 5 stars though as it was a lot of fun。

A perfectly fine entry in "The Wheel of Time," but not particularly special。 If this third entry stands out for any reason, it's that it's "Mat's book" — after two books as a supporting character, Mat Cauthon finally becomes a point-of-view character here, and fairly immediately becomes a fan favorite。 This comes at the expense of Rand, who dominated the first two books but is almost entirely absent as a POV character here。In between we some moody ambiance as characters travel through lands newl A perfectly fine entry in "The Wheel of Time," but not particularly special。 If this third entry stands out for any reason, it's that it's "Mat's book" — after two books as a supporting character, Mat Cauthon finally becomes a point-of-view character here, and fairly immediately becomes a fan favorite。 This comes at the expense of Rand, who dominated the first two books but is almost entirely absent as a POV character here。In between we some moody ambiance as characters travel through lands newly fallen under the sway of various Forsaken, the first serious encounters with Aiel (after some hints in Book 2), the first knowing explorations of the World of Dreams and the introduction of Faile。 That's why despite being structured as a sort of climax to a three-book story arc, it feels more like a setup book, moving pieces into place for the more expansive "second trilogy" to come。 。。。more

I think the appeal of this series comes from the level of immersion Jordan achieves in the prose。 Not a lot actually happens in this book, especially in the middle, but I enjoyed it very much regardless。

Absolutely loved this entry in the series。 Significantly better than the first two books in my opinion。 Loved the character development, strong women characters and perfectly paced。 Looking forward to the next one。 4 5/5

This one is tough。 I started this book and I did not anticipate it would take me THREE months to finish。 I got so out of reading regularly that it just took forever。 And that I think is why I want to give this 4 stars but can't。 I lost all momentum on this book more than one time, and when I would go without reading it for weeks at at time, whenever I came back, it was hard to re-ingratiate myself in everything going on。 I learned a valuable lesson。 With an epic of this magnitude, I cannot let m This one is tough。 I started this book and I did not anticipate it would take me THREE months to finish。 I got so out of reading regularly that it just took forever。 And that I think is why I want to give this 4 stars but can't。 I lost all momentum on this book more than one time, and when I would go without reading it for weeks at at time, whenever I came back, it was hard to re-ingratiate myself in everything going on。 I learned a valuable lesson。 With an epic of this magnitude, I cannot let myself get so off track of reading WOT books again。 There is too much going on to take a 3 week break。 Hahaha。The pacing really kicked up at the end, no surprise, and it was the least confused on exactly what happened at the end that I've been across the first three books。 I think most of that is just knowing more of what's going on as a whole。 This series deserves and necessitates a more intentional effort to read, as it is just too big and grandiose to meander through lazily。 Also, Mat is a certified BA。 。。。more

This book seemed to move along quicker for me than the previous 2。 I think it’s because I finally have a grasp on the characters and storyline。 It’s feeling less they work and is more entertaining。

This one was an absolute banger。 The first Wheel of Time book I unabashedly loved and better in basically every way compared to The Great Hunt。
